Homestead Classes
Where learning is alive, messy, joyful, and rooted in the earth.
Because we know that parenting is a lifelong journey and childhood doesn’t need to be rushed our Homestead Class is designed for families who want to grow together. At Horizon Hills, we celebrate muddy knees and messy masterpieces, butterfly discoveries and bubbling jars of jam, towering magnetic creations and child-sized compost piles.
Here, we trust children to be capable learners.
We trust parents to grow, too.
And we provide the space to do both side by side.
What You’ll Experience
In this one-of-a-kind parent-child class, families dive into all things homesteading:
Garden-to-Table Cooking – From blackberry brambles to the pumpkin patch, learn how to harvest, prep, and enjoy the food you grow.
Handwork Skills – Canning, baking, weaving, and sewing offer opportunities for creativity and real-world learning.
Animal Care – Support your child’s empathy and sense of responsibility by caring for our school animals together.
Nature & Sustainability – Dig in the dirt, play in the mud kitchen, and explore ways to model environmental awareness in everyday life.
Whether you’re baking bread, threading a loom, or observing a butterfly’s wings, you’ll be building parenting confidence and lifelong memories.
