About Us
At Horizon Hills, Learning Is a Shared Journey.
At Horizon Hills, we believe that the best learning happens side by side. Our unique parent-participation model invites parents into the classroom, not just as observers, but as active learners. Here, children and parents grow together. As children explore the world through play, parents deepen their understanding of early childhood development and strengthen their parenting skills through observation, discussion, and connection with teachers and other families.
How Children Learn
We are a play-based program grounded in developmental science. Our classrooms are designed to nurture curiosity, creativity, and collaboration. Every part of our environment is intentionally structured to spark learning through movement, hands-on discovery, and child-led exploration.
At Horizon Hills, academics are integrated into meaningful and joyful experiences. Children count apples while preparing snacks, discover physics while pedaling trikes or building with blocks, explore literacy through songs and storytelling, and experiment with science while splashing, spinning, or digging in the dirt. Learning should never be rushed or forced, especially in preschool. When children feel safe, seen, and supported, their learning unfolds naturally and at the right time for their growing brains.

How Parents Learn
Parenting doesn’t come with a manual, but it can come with a village. Horizon Hills provides a supportive space where parents can gain insight into their child’s needs and behavior, ask questions, and reflect on their own parenting journey. Weekly classes include discussion groups facilitated by experienced educators, modeling by a knowledgeable teacher , and opportunities to attend workshops and expert-led events. Parents leave not just with new tools but with a community.

Our Classes
We offer classes for families with children from infancy through age 10, including:
Childbirth Preparation and Post-Natal Classes
Infant & Toddler Classes: Focused on attachment, routines, and early development.
2-Year-Old Classes: Supporting emerging independence and social learning.
3–5 Year Old Classes: These are mixed-age classrooms where older children mentor and inspire younger children to grow. Children remain with the same teacher for multiple years, providing meaningful continuity for both the parent and the child.
Homestead Class (New!): Our newest offering invites families into nature-based, outdoor learning experiences. Rooted in the rhythms of the seasons, the Homestead class combines gardening, natural play, and community building to nurture the whole child and the entire family.
Why Horizon Hills
Because we know that parenting is a lifelong journey, and childhood doesn’t need to be rushed. At Horizon Hills, we celebrate messy masterpieces, butterfly discoveries, towering magnetic structures, and all the tiny moments in between. We trust children to be capable learners. We trust parents to grow, too. And we provide the space to do both together.
The Horizon Hills Parenting Program is part of the Conejo Valley Adult School and the Conejo Valley Unified School District. As a public, tuition-supported program, we proudly serve community families seeking meaningful, play-based early education and practical parenting support.
